2.1 Our Approach to Privacy
New Light Technologies, Inc. is a technology and spatial-intelligence company with over 25 years of experience handling mission-critical data for public-sector, international-development, and commercial clients. We apply the same rigor to our website privacy. We do not use Google Analytics, HubSpot, or third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell your data or engage in cross-site tracking.
2.2 Lawful Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we process personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Consent: For the use of non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) and for sending marketing communications.
- Legitimate Interests: For responding to your inquiries, ensuring website security and anti-fraud protections, and maintaining standard business operations.
- Legal Obligation: For compliance with federal contracting requirements, recordkeeping, and legal requests.
- Contractual Necessity: For delivering specific resources or services you have requested.
2.3 Information We Collect
- Directly Provided Information: We collect information you provide via forms, such as your name, organization, work email, and message.
- Functional Preferences: We record your audience or sector selection (e.g., Federal, State/Local) to route your inquiry appropriately.
- Pseudonymous Analytics: If you opt in, we collect usage data (page views, interaction events) using our first-party analytics system.
- Security Data: For anti-bot protection and security, we process a hashed representation of your IP address.
2.4 Data Retention Periods
We retain personal information only for the following periods:
- Contract-Related Data: 6 years from the date of final payment, consistent with federal contracting requirements (FAR 4.703).
- Analytics Events: 24 months from the date of collection.
- Consent Records: 12 months from the date the choice was recorded.
- Legal Holds: 7 years (or until the hold is released) for any data subject to litigation or government audit.
- General Inquiries: 24 months, unless converted into a contract-related record.
Upon expiration of these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymized.
2.5 Subprocessors
NLT utilizes a limited number of service providers to maintain the Site. These providers are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to NLT:
- Cloudflare: Hosting, content delivery, and security (Global).
- Supabase: Database hosting (United States).
- Resend: Email delivery services.
- ADP (Workforce Now): Applicant tracking (only if you visit the Careers portal).
2.6 International Data Transfers
Personal data collected via this Site is stored in the United States. For transfers of data from the EEA or UK, NLT relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as the lawful transfer mechanism. Where applicable, NLT also relies on the Data Privacy Framework (DPF) for certified transfers.
3. Cookie Policy
3.1 First-Party Consent Manager
We use a first-party consent manager that loads no non-essential cookies until you opt in. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically. Non-essential categories load only after you opt in. We use no Google Analytics, no HubSpot tracking, and no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Cookie Categories

Our own first-party analytics, to understand how visitors use the site. Opt-in only for public visitors. No Google Analytics and no third-party analytics.
Supports opt-in email updates via a strict double opt-in. Submitting a contact form does not subscribe you. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
