The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership, in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), hosted a webinar exploring the advantages and caveats of using shift-share analysis with the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWIs). Coupled together, the two create a powerful toolset that helps quantify the changes reported in the QWIs and assists users in evaluating policy changes, shifts in the economy, and different aspects of the workforce.
The session featured the Wisconsin Labor Market Information Director, who oversees the production of workforce information related to the state economy and brings extensive experience in applied research and economic forecasting.
