OnTheMap for Emergency Management Version 3 was released June 15, 2012. The public data tool provides an easy-to-use, web-based interface for accessing U.S. population and workforce statistics in real time for areas affected by natural disasters. It allows users to easily retrieve reports containing detailed workforce, population, and housing characteristics for hurricanes, floods, wildfires, winter storms, and federal disaster declaration areas.
The New Light Technologies (NLT) team provides application design, testing and implementation, project management, and marketing outreach consulting services to the Census Bureau in support of the development of the OnTheMap for Emergency Management tool.
