NLT's Chief Scientist will serve as a guest editor for two special issues of the prestigious Remote Sensing journal. The journal is accepting manuscript submissions for consideration in each issue.
The first special issue is entitled "Remote Sensing Measurements for Monitoring Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)." As satellite data becomes ever more accessible and frequent, it is now possible not only to better understand how Earth is changing, but also to use these insights to improve decision-making, guide policy, deliver services, and promote better-informed governance. The issue explores the new possibilities for harnessing this data to understand our changing world.
The second special issue is entitled "Remote Sensing of Night-Time Light." Night-time lights can indicate a wide range of human-related aspects — from economic activity and development, urbanization, and changes in GDP, to migration patterns, the economic impacts of conflict, and the impacts of natural hazards on vulnerable populations. The issue brings together original and novel studies demonstrating applications of remotely sensed night-time lights across multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary domains.
All manuscripts are subject to peer review.
