Build vs. Buy: NLT Sponsors Seminar on Cloud Security Solutions

February 3, 2020·NLT Staff

Enterprise technology is developing at an explosive rate, and it can be hard for businesses and organizations to keep up. That's the expanding frontier where New Light Technologies (NLT) excels. Gartner has noted that global IT spending growth is driven primarily by enterprise software spending.

NLT's AICF project sponsored "Build vs. Buy: Balancing Innovation & Execution," an open Meetup event hosted by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). The CSA convened a body of experts to share lessons learned and best practices around a company's decision to buy cloud solutions versus building them in-house.

It was a successful event covering a wide range of topics. The panel discussed having a solid understanding of organizational strategy when assessing needs and procedures; the labor, resources, and cost required to build and maintain custom solutions in-house; and the synergy required within an organization to prevent duplication between custom-built solutions and software or services bought from an outside vendor. Attendees were pointed to resources and learning opportunities in areas such as scaling, automation, key metrics, and proven solutions.

The CSA understands the nuances of securing data in the cloud. It is one of the world's leading organizations dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices for a secure cloud computing environment, providing education and shaping sound policy around cloud computing for businesses, government organizations, and academic institutions alike.
